Jobs creation & environmental degradation prevention
Description
NSCE was commissioned by the Royal Netherlands Embassy at the request of the Tourism Development Authority to develop and conduct a study assessing Ecotourism development activities potential in Fayoum and assessing their benefits in creating jobs and in preventing environmental degradation.
The project brought together experts in the fields of small and micro enterprise training, credit provision, environmental planning, economy, crafts marketing and tourism development and marketing.

- Conduct Impact Analysis: assess and analyse the potential economic, cultural and social impact ecotourism might have on Fayoum.
- Identify activities and determine marketing opportunities for the area
- Conduct Environmental Impact Analysis: assess the environmental impact of the current plan
- Conduct Capacity Assessment: assess the capacity of local authorities and agencies to support ecotourism projects in Fayoum
- Design a series of six ecotourism projects to be developed and conducted under the umbrella of the Ecotourism for Sustainable Development Project.
