The Rehabilitation Of Amiriya Mosque Project
Description
The Amiriya was built at the beginning of the sixteenth century by the last ruler of Yemen’s Tahirid dynasty, Amir Ibn `Abd Al-Wahab. It consists of a highly ornamented and painted prayer hall, a madrasa and the private living quarters of the sultan.
NSCE is to identify the team for the project aiming to upgrade Historical Islamic mosques in Yemen.
Services
NSCE was responsible for repairing five hundred year old mosque, Madrasa al Amariyya, Taaherid dynasty, in Rada’ (south eastern highlands). The work also included major repairs to the main walls of the building, with locally hired labor, employing local materials and techniques. NSCE took the responsibility for supervision and documentation, text, measured drawings and photos.
