NSCE was commissioned to conduct a survey as part of an overall plan for the institutional restructuring of the Central Authority for Seeds (CAS). GTZ, know GIZ, requested an organizational analysis with a gender-sensitive approach in order to avoid any negative impact of restructuring on the present position of female employees. Through the building up of the database with basic data extracted from the employee files, a comprehensive gender desegregated profile of the organization was established (with a focus on the composition of the labor force, the employees professional history, training and promotion opportunities, gender awareness, team spirit and knowledge, and work load situation). The statistical results were substantiated by the result of a quota sample with eight indicators carried out among 350 employees. In addition, two consultative workshops with executive level managers were carried to discuss outcome and follow up actions including the nomination and training of a gender focal point.
