The overall aim of the project is to promote a rights-based migration governance system and combat and mitigate the vulnerabilities caused by irregular migration and support the role of national institutions through enhancing national knowledge and capacities in accordance with national priorities with regards to migration governance. The project’s scope falls under the European Union Trust Fund for Stability and Addressing the Root causes of Irregular Migration and Displaced Persons in Africa (EUTF-NOA).

Building on existing national efforts towards migration governance in the Arab Republic of Egypt and learning from the experience of the Kingdom of Spain as a sending, transit and receiving country, the project has two key objectives:

  1. To foster rights-based migration-governance systems in the region
  2. To mitigate vulnerabilities arising from irregular migration and to combat irregular migration
