Description
The Fayoum Drinking Water and Sanitation Project (FaDWaSP) aims to assist the Fayoum Economic General Authority for Water and Sanitation (FEGAWS) to
- increase its coverage both in quantity and quality of water supply and sewerage to the entire population of the Governorate of Fayoum and
- improve its recovery of operation and maintenance cost through a mix of technical assistance and investments.
By the end of the project, 95% of the population (now 55%) will have access to piped water supply and 25% of all households (now 13%) will be connected to a sewer.

- Design and establish a HR Management Unit/Department in the company with its relative policies and working procedures

- Develop and implement compliant and efficient human resource management policies and practices.
- Develop, plan and implement the performance evaluation.
- Assessment of staffing resources and organizational structure for the purpose of development and increasing the efficiency of the working procedures
- Developing the required training plan that facilitate effective employee development and meet current and future business needs.
- Analyze and prepare the job descriptions as needed for the company.
- Develop human resource planning, including training and education career path.
Hygiene, Gender and Human Resources have always been considered in designing project strategies. In this context, NSCE was commissioned the evaluation of an on-site sanitation scheme to determine the socio-economical acceptability of latrines. From 2000 till 2011, three NSCE consultants have been involved in the implementation of the Gender, Hygiene and Human Resources components for the last phase of the project, including school hygiene promotion program, gender mainstreaming and gender participation in the Economic Water Authority and the development of an accurate HR system with all its facets: recruitment, training, performance monitoring and evaluation.
