Description of the Project:
UNICEF Egypt Country Office, in coordination with other UN Agencies and the Egyptian Government, is contributing to the humanitarian response. UNICEF Egypt has focused on addressing the needs of refugees and the most vulnerable among impacted host communities with targeted assistance to provide quality basic services in health, education, social, and child protection.
Objectives of the Evaluation:
The objectives of the evaluation are to examine the Humanitarian Response Program against the standard evaluation criteria of relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, coverage, and coherence with regards to programming and internal governance and provide actionable recommendations and lessons learned to inform future programming planning.
Description of Actual Services Provided:
- Desk review and analysis;
- Developing the evaluation conceptual framework, ethical protocol, instruments, and data analysis framework;
- Data collection through 40 Key Informant Interviews with program stakeholders including UNICEF Key management staff and humanitarian response staff, Implementing Partners and Governmental Bodies (who are involved in supporting refugees and asylum seekers in Egypt) as well as 25 Focus Group Discussions with community support teams and community school teachers who are involved in activities targeting refugees in the target areas and a sample of target groups including children, adults, parents from refugees, asylum seekers and members of host communities.
