Meaning in Arabic ‘Partnership”, Shiraka prioritises partnerships with a focus on civilians’ and especially youth’ and women’s inclusion in governance-related matters and public services delivery.
Shiraka LABS has as objective
- to provide local assistance and business support for sustainable agribusiness. LABS aims to build the capacity in knowledge and skills of civil servants and entrepreneurs for the development of sustainable agribusiness value chains with a focus on SMEs
To enhance the capacity of civil servants and entrepreneurs training is provided to increase skills in business counselling and knowledge on the financial investors’ environment, business management, technical skills, and financial services. Staff of selected banks and microfinance institutions, agricultural TVET schools, business support centres and one-stop shops, youth and women were the main target groups.
Services
Private-Public Partnerships Development
- Planning, organising, and implementing a ‘Financial Fair’ to increase partnerships with entrepreneurs, TVET schools, financial and non-financial services providers in the selected governorates of Luxor and Beheira
Curriculum Development and Training
- Delivering of ToT training programmes on SMEs to staff of business counselling centres, one-stop shops, banks and microfinance institutions, and trainers at TVET school in the agricultural sector
- Delivering of ToT on ‘how to start and improve your business’ programmes to start-ups and entrepreneurs
- Coaching financial and non-financial services providers and entrepreneurs
Operational Management
- Providing technical assistance to entrepreneurs
- Developing set of monitoring indicators to track SMEs business performance
- Implementing monitoring systems for on-the-job training for business counselling centres staff
